LAHORE: The goal of a bright future of Pakistan cannot be realized without achievement of 100 percent literacy rate, Punjab Chief Minister Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif has said in a message on the International Literacy Day on Sunday.
The chief minister said the Punjab government has taken revolutionary measures for the promotion of education. He said a comprehensive program is being implemented for ensuring 100 percent literacy rate while an emergency campaign has been launched for universal primary enrolment for increasing the literacy rate.
Shahbaz Sharif said the aim of national progress and development cannot be achieved nor a prosperous future for the country can be ensured unless young generation is equipped with modern education. He said it is a fact that only those nations have progressed and prospered which paid due attention to education sector.
The Punjab chief minister expressed the resolve that no effort will be spared for increasing literacy rate and equipping the young generation with modern knowledge and technology. He expressed the hope that the solid measures taken by the Punjab government will help achieve the aim of enhancing literacy rate.
