56% Pakistani men offer Eid prayers in neighborhood mosque

eid_prayers_trend_surveyISLAMABAD: More than half (56 percent) of Pakistani men offer their Eid prayers in a neighborhood mosque, according to a Gilani Research Foundation survey carried out by Gallup Pakistan.

In the survey, nationally representative sample of men from across the four provinces was asked: “Where do you usually offer your Eid prayers?”

Responding to this question, 56 percent of the respondents said they offer their Eid prayers at a neighborhood mosque, 39 percent said they go to an Eidgah and two percent said that they offer them at home. Two percent said they do not offer Eid prayers and one percent did not respond.

The study, released by Gilani Foundation, was carried out by Gallup Pakistan, the Pakistani affiliate of Gallup International, among a sample of 1,446 men in rural and urban areas of all four provinces of the country between August 12 and 19, 2013.

Error margin is estimated to be approximately ±2-3 percent at 95 percent confidence level.
