ISLAMABAD: Emphasizing upon the enhancement of educational facilities, the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Assembly speaker has highlighted the requirement of establishing a cadet college for the youth at the junior level whereas at the higher level educational needs could be met by an institution on the pattern of Air University in the province.
According to a press release issued by the Pakistan Air Force (PAF), Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Assembly Speaker Asad Qaisar called on Chief of the Air Staff of the Pakistan Air Force Air Chief Marshal Tahir Rafique Butt at the Air Headquarters on Thursday. During the meeting, various matters pertaining to the development of the province were discussed.
The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Assembly speaker praised the role played by the Pakistan Air Force in national defense.
The chief of the air staff appreciated the suggestions and said that the PAF would extend all possible help in this connection provided the land, infrastructure and allied facilities are catered for at the provincial level.
The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Assembly speaker, in view of the chief of the air staff’s position as the Ski Federation of Pakistan president and the expertise already available with the PAF, sought assistance in reviving Malam Jabba as ski resort.
The chief of the air staff conveyed that the PAF will make all possible endeavors, within its reach, to turn Malam Jabba into a public entertainment and tourist attraction spot. He also acknowledged that educational and recreational facilities play an immensely important role in the overall progress and development of a country and expressed his good wishes for the prosperity and well-being of the people of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
The meeting concluded with exchange of souvenirs between the two dignitaries.
