Books For Sale
A Pakistani family has some rare and old books, which can be described as exquisite gems. Some of the seven (7) books, which are handwritten, are in Arabic language while the others are in Persian language and are many centuries old.
These books have been retained by a maverick Pakistani family with extra care for the last one century. These are in physically unworn and very good condition. The retainers intend to sell out the books to any organization, individual or institute.
‘MATAN MATEEN FIANAHV’
This book is on quality in Arabic Grammar and deals with the delicacies and intricacies of the language in the field of ‘Nahv’ written by Al-Hadi Ibn Mohammad Raza Abdur Rasul Al-Ansari Al-Harvi in 1279 A.H. Any other manuscript of its level of calligraphic art is not found anywhere. It has been written in such a way that it attracts both the scholars and the common man.
‘AL-MAMULAT-UT-TIBBIA’
A unique collection of some rare prescriptions of renowned Hakims have been compiled by Muzaffar Ibn-i-Mohammad Al-Hasni Ashafi which is written in finest calligraphy of that era and bears author’s stamp on it as a proof its genuineness. It has 329 pages. No Persian manuscript of this book has been found anywhere. It is not certain when it was written.
‘KITAB-UL-ILAJ’
This book in Persian language contains 503 pages and is written by Hakim Sultan Ali Khurasani, a renowned Hakim of his times who served as a personal physician to King Abu Saeed Ghazi of Iran. This book is a rare piece of calligraphic art and beauty. Footnotes of some pages have been embellished with unique golden artistic work. The book was completed in 20 years and it dates back to 950 A.H.
‘JALINOOS’ COMMENTARY ON BUQRAT CHAPTERS’
It is an Arabic book of 106 pages containing four essays. Though it is not certain when it was written, some scholars of high repute are of the opinion that it was dotted down sometime during the era of Othman Caliphate. In this context, it could be said that it was written about 500 years ago.
‘KITAB AL-QANUN FI AL-TIBB’ (THE CANON OF MEDICINE)
It is a manuscript of Ibne Sina’s famous book ‘The Canon of Medicine’ in Persian with its first page being a rare example of beauty and golden painting. It bears author’s stamp on it which could be read by a magnifying glass. It contains 130 pages.
